POSITAL now combines the advantages of the high precision magnetic technology with well-established and powerful Ethernet interfaces.

IXARC magnetic encoders provide a maximum resolution of bit, bit accuracy, a maximum number of turns and rapid dynamic response that rivals the best optical encoders. Multiturn models count any desired number of revolutions, provided by a unique self-powered revolution counting system that keeps track of absolute positions under all conditions.

EtherCAT and PROFINET magnetic encoders are available with multiple options for housing size and materials, flange configuration, shaft type and diameter.

PROFINET is a real time Industrial Ethernet standard from Profibus&ProfiNet International designed for automation. PROFINET includes special Ethernet communications protocols to provide real-time signaling between devices.

EtherCAT is an industrial communication protocol with very fast cycle time of up to µs. Developed by Beckhoff and managed by EtherCAT Technology Group it is based on Ethernet-Frames and has a structure of shift register.

No Software, No App, No Installations

POSITAL is introducing powerful new programming capabilities and tools for their IXARC series of rotary encoders. With these new capabilities, the encoders’ performance characteristics can be extensively modified through software changes, without requiring any changes to physical components. In a related development, POSITAL is introducing the UBIFAST configuration tool, a hardware module that can be easily connected to programmable encoders through accessory cables. The UBIFAST tool features a built-in WiFi hotspot and webserver. Once the tool has been powered up, any WiFi-enabled smartphone, tablet, or laptop computer can connect to the WiFi hotspot and the configuration interface will automatically open up in a standard web browser window – no app, no software installation, and no Internet connection are required.

POSITAL also presents an Internet-enabled configuration management system for IXARC programmable encoders. Whenever a device is reconfigured, the operator has the option of registering the changes with POSITAL through an automatic email interface.

RAY-LG

RAY-LG is a very compact safety light curtain designed to monitor all types of high-speed doors, sectional doors and industrial doors with a maximum operating range of 8 m. It features up to elements and a minimum resolution of mm.

Thanks to its door blanking feature RAY-LG can be installed directly into the guide rails of the gate. The use of criss-cross beams makes RAY-LG capable of detecting even small objects. In addition RAY-LG is very easy to install and is available with various beam spacings and electrical outputs. A very high light reserve, as well as its IP rating, makes the RAY-LG insensitive to dust, dirt and water. For the detection of drawbars VITECTOR offers a version with elements and a minimum resolution of mm.
